As we gather to set the pace in Indianapolis at the 62nd National Convention in just a few weeks, we are excited to welcome our repeat attendees and our first-timers! You’ll create your own roadmap from dozens of options in the schedule – celebration, networking, education, Fraternity business and more. Our Alpha Chi Omega staff shares a few tips to set you up for success and make the most of your weekend.
- Rest your engines before convention. You’ll be going at full speed the entire weekend with early mornings and long days.
- Download the Whova app when it launches in late June to connect with other attendees and build your customized agenda. A portable charger might also come in handy if you’re using the app all day.
- Wear your red and green when you travel to show your Alpha Chi pride and find other sisters in the airport or on the road. Make sure to upload your travel picture in the app for a change to win a prize!
- There will be lots of moving from session to session, so make sure to break in your shoes before arriving in Indianapolis or toss a pair of flats in your bag for a midday swap.
- Pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated – there’s so much talking when 800 sisters gather!
- All attendees will receive a convention-exclusive tote bag at registration, so add some flair with a button, scarf or pin so you can easily identify which one is yours.
- Push yourself out of your comfort zone and introduce yourself to new sisters – you share the common bond of Alpha Chi Omega, which is a great built-in icebreaker. We’ve also planned out opportunities to facilitate connections, including Brake for Sisterhood moments and Race to Connect! buttons.
- Stay fueled by making time for breakfast and packing snacks – protein is great for that midday slump!
- Unpack your bag right after check-in and steam/iron your clothes right away so you’re ready to go for the entire weekend.
- Don’t forget your badge. Seeing hundreds of golden lyres around the National Chapter Meeting room is an incredible thing!
The countdown to the green flag is on!
