A Partnership That Makes an Uncommon Impact

Get to know Krystal Murer (Gamma Tau, Oklahoma City University) and learn more about her experience as a Foundation Partner. Foundation Partners is a community of donors who make monthly gifts to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. These donors play a key role in sustaining the work of the Fraternity through consistent giving.

Tell us a little about your Alpha Chi Omega experience and how it has prepared you for where you are today.

Alpha Chi Omega truly has a place for all of us, regardless of where we are in life! Over the years, I have served as an alumnae chapter officer, a collegiate chapter advisor, a province specialist and a province collegiate chair, in addition to numerous shorter-term volunteer roles. Each role has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, gain new skill sets while further refining skills already in my toolkit and grow the most terrific sister-friendships with women of numerous generations across the country and even around the globe. I had no idea when I ran for VP chapter relations and standards in undergrad that it would truly shape my interests, my future volunteer service (as a CRS specialist) and lead me to my current career as an ethics and compliance officer.

When did you start giving to the Foundation and what inspired you to start giving?

After graduation, I made donations to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation as I was able. Early on, I had a greater ability to donate my time – I have loved serving Alpha Chi Omega as a Leadership Academy facilitator numerous times, which is one of the programs supported by the Foundation, in addition to my volunteer roles supporting the Fraternity. Whether donating time or treasure, I consistently see the outcomes of the Foundation’s support and programming: sisters growing in their leadership ability after attending Leadership Academy (both as collegiate chapter officers and as facilitators!), sisters succeeding academically after receiving a scholarship to help with their education and local domestic violence awareness agencies benefiting from the Community Impact program. I knew I wanted to contribute to this impact!

When did you start giving as a Foundation Partner and why do you choose to give in this way?

I joined as a Foundation Partner after the 2022 National Convention. I was inspired by the stories shared during the Foundation Luncheon and throughout the weekend by long-time donors. While I have made donations over the years to the Foundation that were of meaningful amounts to me at the time, I wanted to make the financial commitment to give regularly and consistently throughout each year.

What do you enjoy about being a Foundation Partner?

I love knowing that my donations are making an impact on Alpha Chi Omega by being part of a much larger donor group. I look forward to receiving Foundation snail mail, particularly those that share a quick collegian note from my chapter of initiation, as those mailers convey where those dollars are going and what programs they support.

The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation offers sisters the opportunity to magnify their positive financial impact and to strengthen the quality and consistency of programs the Foundation supports. Determine an amount and a frequency that is meaningful to you – together, we are making an uncommon impact.
