Rotational Programs

Our four programs are rotated among collegiate chapters each year and include InTune, Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP), Let’s Talk Love and Kaleidoscope. These four distinct rotational programs cover topics such as vulnerability, reducing risk, healthy and unhealthy relationships, diversity, equity and inclusion and more.

INTUNE

InTune is a chapter-wide program that helps members create comfort with vulnerability and determine how their priorities are influenced by and contribute to those of Alpha Chi Omega. The progression of learning and activities in this program is based on Alpha Chi Omega’s values of wisdom, devotion and achievement. In this program, wisdom refers to chapter members understanding their priorities, devotion is the development of a strong chapter, and achievement is the acknowledgment and understanding that individuals and chapters have the ability to create positive change and understand how it impacts the entire organization.

AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATING IN INTUNE, MEMBERS WILL:

  • Articulate the importance of vulnerability as an individual and as members within a group
  • Create individual priorities for building upon individual dreams
  • Illustrate how their individual and chapter’s growth are strengthened by Alpha Chi Omega
  • Distinguish a member’s responsibility to enact change in chapter growth
  • Examine the power of an individual in positive change and legacy building

ALCOHOL SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM (ASTP)

The Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP) is an interactive alcohol program acknowledging that college students may choose to drink and focusing on evidence-based education to encourage steps toward reduced risks. The goal of ASTP is to educate students about alcohol, increase students’ ability to critically examine their drinking patterns and eventually implement the skills they learn.

AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATING IN ASTP, MEMBERS WILL:

  • Identify Alpha Chi Omega’s backstops
  • Define a standard drink
  • Evaluate their personal use of alcohol
  • Describe how alcohol affects the body at various levels of consumption
  • Explain factors that influence blood alcohol level (BAL)
  • Identify risk-reduction strategies for alcohol consumption
  • Identify ways to change their current pattern of alcohol use

Please contact the collegiate experience team with any questions.

LET'S TALK LOVE

Let’s Talk Love is a program designed to educate members on dating violence, sexual assault and healthy relationships. The program helps participants understand the warning signs of unhealthy relationships and how to be a supportive friend. In addition, it provides the opportunity to discuss healthy relationships so members can feel empowered to create healthy relationships of their own in the future.

AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATING IN LET’S TALK LOVE, MEMBERS WILL:

  • Identify the warning signs of unhealthy relationships
  • Know how and when to intervene as a bystander
  • Understand the research on victim response
  • Articulate supportive language to be used during survivor response
  • Define the components of a healthy relationship
  • Evaluate their own relationships
  • Acknowledge tools to create healthy relationships in the future

Please contact theeducation and leadership initiatives team with any questions.

KALEIDOSCOPE

Kaleidoscope is Alpha Chi Omega’s rotational program that focuses on diversity, equityand inclusion.

The name “Kaleidoscope” was chosen for this program to connect to the ever-changing lens through which each sister of Alpha Chi Omega views the world. When looking through a kaleidoscope, we see a beautiful design created by overlapping pieces of glass; when we turn the kaleidoscope even just a degree, the pieces rearrange to form a new work of art. Each piece remains itself during the turning, but the way each piece relates to the others around it is always changing.

The work of diversity, equity and inclusion requires all sisters to continually shape and shift their views as we learn more through conversations, education and lived experiences. As we understand more about the pieces of our sisters’ identities – and how those pieces come together to form the real, strong women they are – we embrace our changing perspectives. We also learn more about ourselves and our own identities as we connect, lead, grow and serve in our lifelong Alpha Chi Omega journeys.

AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATING IN KALEIDOSCOPE MEMBERS WILL:

    • Identify and explore the three pieces to Collective Endeavors

    • Implement Collective Endeavors by recognizing the value of differences and engaging in caring and compassionate conversations

    • Identify the importance and relevancy of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)

    • Recognize the relationship between unconscious bias and microaggressions and the role they have in creating harmful environments

    • Apply best practices to address unconscious bias and microaggressions

    • Acknowledge intent and impact and consider varying perspectives through group engagement and discussion around privilege and power

    • Recognize the relationship of privilege and power in a fraternal context

    • Implement Collective Endeavors by creating personal commitments to develop spaces where all members are respected, are included and feel a sense of belonging

    • Apply best practices to address DEI issues and challenges through chapter experience

Collective Endeavors

If your chapter is preparing to take part in Kaleidoscope during this term, your members should complete the assigned prework, Collective Endeavors. This training takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and can be found in The Heights Learning Center

Kaleidoscope builds on the concepts you learn about duringCollective Endeavors, which encourages members to answer the call to action from Alpha Chi Omega’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement of Position through three piecesReflectWelcome and Commit. Alpha Chi Omega members should reflect on the diversity of our communities; strive to welcome members to an accessible, inclusive and equitable experience; and commit to creating spaces where all members are respected, are included and feel a sense of belonging.

To access the Heights, members need to log in to My Alpha Chi.
