Participate in a Milestone Ceremony

Once you receive your pin, we hope you’ll gather with loved ones to participate in a milestone ceremony. Each milestone has a corresponding open ceremony that can be performed by members or nonmembers of Alpha Chi Omega. All ceremonies can be found in the Resource Center and are reminders of the commitment we each made to Alpha Chi Omega.

Celebrate at Convention

There is an additional opportunity to celebrate your milestone during our 2024 National Convention in Indianapolis! If you have celebrated a 50-, 60- or 75-year milestone during 2023 or 2024, we hope you will join us in Indy to be pinned by a member of the National Council. Milestone Years – What Are They Noted For?

Transport yourself to the year of your initiation as we look back on what was happening in the world and Alpha Chi Omega during 2014, 1999, 1974, 1964 and 1949! Each milestone offers a special opportunity to share memories and appreciation of sisterhood through the years.

What is your favorite Alpha Chi Omega memory?
My favorite memory has to be attending Leadership Academy! During the academy, I was able to really learn about how to better my leadership skills and how to communicate with members, but also bond with other sisters and share about Alpha Chi Omega on a national level. During this trip was also when I was able to bond with a sister who is one of my best friends to this day! Oh, and I saw snow for the very first time!

What do you love most about Alpha Chi Omega?
I love meeting and becoming friends with sisters from all the chapters across the U.S. just by having one thing in common: we are all real, strong women. Not only are my sisters from my collegiate days at USC still some of my closest friends, but I have so many other dear friends (in all age groups) that I would never have known had I not attended an alumnae event or volunteered at the collegiate level. I used to wear a small lyre necklace everywhere I went and would meet so many sisters that way just by PACE-ing with my jewelry. LITB!

What is your favorite Alpha Chi Omega memory?
Recruitment (which was called “rush” when we were in school) – it was a great time when we were all together and working toward a common goal.

What do you love most about Alpha Chi Omega?
The incredible friendships, which are still very strong and very important to me.

What is your favorite Alpha Chi Omega memory?
One of the most momentous times for me was the 1996 National Convention. The theme was “Vision and Values,” and to me those two words summarize so much of what we are all about. Vision and values mean a willingness to take organizational steps that are innovative and, some might say, risky. It's an environment of mutual respect for differences of opinion, and I think it did bring us together to appreciate opinions and then see how they will all work together. It was a togetherness, and I go back to the word “team,” and I think that meant a lot to me.
Fun fact: Judy served as National President of Alpha Chi Omega in 1992-96!

What do you love most about Alpha Chi Omega?
The thing I love the most about it is that we still get together. Once a month, we go out to lunch and spend time together. We really enjoy being together. Most of the groups are Kansas Alpha Chi Omegas, but some are from all over. Our love for each other and our sisterhood in Alpha Chi Omega keep us coming back together.
